Day 1: Hikkaduwa - Sigiriya (or Start from the Airport)

Start your journey early in the morning towards Sigiriya, stopping by a roof tile factory and a pineapple plantation. Visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, one of Sri Lanka`s most famous attractions, dedicated to the care of elephants. Here, you can observe and help feed the young elephants, before they head to the river for their daily bath. In the afternoon, explore the Sigiriya Fortress, the ancient royal palace of King Kasyappa (477-495 A.D). Enjoy dinner and stay overnight at a hotel in Sigiriya.

Day 2: Sigiriya - Anuradhapura

After breakfast, depart for Anuradhapura, taking a scenic route through small towns, rural villages, and coconut plantations. Along the way, stop to sample fresh king coconut, pineapples, mangoes, and other tropical fruits. Anuradhapura, a UNESCO World Heritage site, was the capital of Sri Lanka for over 1,300 years until the 10th century AD. Explore the historical ruins, including the Archaeological Museum, the sacred Bo Tree, the Brazen Palace, the Royal Palace, Samadhi Buddha, Kuttam Pokuna, and more. Dinner and overnight stay in Sigiriya.

Day 3: Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa

After breakfast, travel to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, another UNESCO World Heritage site. Once the capital of Sri Lanka from the 11th to 13th centuries, Polonnaruwa is known for its grand statues, walkways, and palaces set within a lush, wildlife-rich environment. In the afternoon, visit Minneriya National Park before returning to your hotel in Sigiriya for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Sigiriya - Kandy

Start the day with an elephant ride through the jungle before heading to Kandy. En route, visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, a batik factory, and a spice garden in Matale. Upon arrival in Kandy, explore the Temple of the Tooth and enjoy a traditional cultural dance performance in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Kandy.

Day 5: Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast, visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens before departing for Nuwara Eliya, known for its cool climate and British colonial influence. Along the way, stop at Ramboda Falls, a tea plantation, and a working tea factory, where you can also try your hand at plucking tea leaves. Dinner and overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 6: Nuwara Eliya - Ella

After breakfast, take an optional scenic train journey to Ella, passing through beautiful tea plantations and offering stunning views of Sri Lanka`s countryside. Our driver will pick you up from Ella station. Once in Ella, check into your hotel and enjoy a hike to Little Adam`s Peak, explore the Rama`s Cave, or relax at one of Ella`s picturesque waterfalls. Dinner and overnight stay in Ella.

Day 7: Ella - Tissa

Continue to Tissamaharama, stopping to visit the Buduruwagalla Buddha statue along the way. In the afternoon, go on a safari in Yala National Park. Dinner and overnight stay in Tissamaharama.

Day 8: Yala - Negombo

After breakfast, return to Hikkaduwa via the scenic southern coastal route. Visit Dondra Lighthouse, the blowhole at Dickwella, the Weligama fishing village, and the turtle hatchery in Unawatuna. This concludes the tour.
