After breakfast, visit the historic Galle Fort in Galle. Located in the Bay of Galle on the southeast coast of Sri Lanka, the fort was originally built by the Portuguese in 1588 and later extensively fortified by the Dutch starting in 1649.This UNESCO-listed site is a blend of historical, archaeological, and architectural heritage, retaining its polished appearance even after over 423 years, thanks to restoration efforts by the Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka.
Next, visit the Mask Factory in Ambalangoda, a village renowned for its mask industry. These masks play an essential role in traditional Sri Lankan dances like Kolam and Yaga. Then, proceed to Meetiyagoda to explore the Moonstone Mine, famous for its precious gems, especially moonstones. Meetiyagoda is one of the few places in the world where moonstones are found in such high concentrations. Villagers believe the land is blessed by the moon, as the grey moonstone has a smooth, cool feel and a soft glow similar to the moon.
In the afternoon, follow the coastal route back to Negombo, marking the end of the tour.
